「as soon as~」

 

Meaning

◉ as soon as~
◉ It means that something has just been done and the opposite of what has just happened happened.
◉ The latter sentence usually follows a negative result.
◉ This sentence pattern is used for actions that “frequently repeat”, so it’s not necessary for things that only happen once.
Wrong example:
あたらしいおさらったそばからってしまった。
(I just bought a new plate and it broke immediately.)

Watashi ga katadzuke teru soba kara, uchinoko wa sugu chirakasu.

Yūshoku o tabeta soba kara, onaka ga hette shimatta.
I have just eaten dinner, but I was hungry immediately。

④ パソコンをなおしたそばから、またこわれた。
Pasokon o naoshita soba kara, mata kowareta.
The computer just got repaired and it broke immediately.

ゆきかきをしたそばからすぐもる。
Yukikaki o shita soba kara sugu tsumoru.
As soon as the snow is cleared, snow has accumulated.

くるまあらったそばからあめはじめ、またよごれてしまった。
Kuruma o aratta soba kara, ame ga ori hajime, mata yogorete shimatta.
As soon as I had just washed my car, it started to rain, and my car became dirty again.
