THE MEANING OF「〜て欲しい」

◉ “I want someone or something to ~” or “I need someone or something to ~”

◉ It expresses a wish or wishes for someone or something to ~.

SENTENCE PATTERNS

VERB(te form)＋欲しい：

Ex：俺が作った料理を食べて欲しい。
I want you to eat the food I made.

VERB(ないで)＋欲しい：

Ex：明日から会社に来ないで欲しい。
I don’t want you to come to the office from tomorrow

①Na-adj・Noun(things)＋であって＋欲しい：

Ex：地球が平和であって欲しい。
I want the earth to be peaceful.

②Na-adj・Noun(people or animal)＋でいて＋欲しい：

Ex：あなたがずっと健康でいて欲しい。
i want you to stay healthy.
