Example Sentences

① 日本（にほん）に来（き）た以上（いじょう）は、京都（きょうと）に一度（いちど）行（い）ってみたい。

Nihon ni kita ijō wa, Kyōto ni ichido ittemitai

Since I came to Japan, I want to go to Kyoto once.

② やると言（い）った以上（いじょう）は、最後（さいご）までやり遂（と）げなきゃいけない。

Yaru to itta ijō wa, saigomade yaritogenakya ikenai.

As long as I say I’ll do it, I have to finish it to the end.
